- 1 medium turnip
- 10 oz can applesauce
- 2 tbsp butter or margarine
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- Peel and dice turnip. Cook in boiling, salted water until tender (20-30 minutes)
- Drain and mash 3 cups turnip.
- Beat in applesauce, butter, eggs, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and pepper
- Transfer to 1 1/2 qt greased casserole dish
- Chill 3/4 hour before dinner.
- Heat in 350 f oven for 35 minutes.
