For the smoking enthusiast, this smoked green bean recipe as a side dish is so easy, and so delicious. Your friends and family will be requesting them at every occasion!  Well, maybe not every occasion, but when you are smoking meats, it's easy to just put these on the smoker and let them smoke for the last 2 hours of your smoke. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.  And don't be alarmed, these are NOT Diet green beans :)  However, you can eliminate the butter, or if you must the bacon grease but why would anyone do that?  This is a full batch to serve a lot of people.  You can adjust to fit your needs, as most often we just open up 2 cans and it's enough for 2 - 4 people.  And since I have a Pit Boss Pellet Smoker (or two ;) ) That's what I am using but of course this will work in any smoker.  Maybe even an oven, but you would lose the smoky flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 12 Cans of Cut Green Beans Drained
  • 1 Pound Bacon fried and chopped
  • 1 Stick of Butter
  • Salt, Pepper, Garlic to taste (I use Garlic Pepper)

That's it!  See! EASY!

Directions:

  1. Open and drain all 12 cans of cut green beans (French cut works too).
  2. Add to Large 12x9 Foil Pan.
  3. Fry your bacon to a crispy texture and chop.
  4. Add Bacon to Beans and mix well.
  5. Pour bacon grease into pan.
  6. Cut 1 stick of butter and place on top of beans.
  7. Salt, pepper and garlic to taste (I use garlic pepper).
  8. Place in smoker at 225 - 250 degrees. Either temperature works well. Depending on what you are smoking at the time.
  9. Let smoke for at least 2 hours.
  10. Remove from smoker and serve.

Enjoy!
