How to make Carne Asada On The Pit Boss Pro Series 1100. And yes this can be done on a gas grill as well. This is really delicious and easy to make on a Pit Boss Pellet Grill, or any pellet grill! I made Carne Asada burritos and tacos, but there are so many other things to make with Carne Asada. And I used some homemade Pico De Gallo.

Ingredients:

  • 2lbs of Flank Steak or Skirt Steak
  • 1 Bunch of Cilantro
  • 1 Medium White Onion
  • 1 Orange or substitute about 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 Lime
  • 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsp New Mexico Red Chili Powder or your favorite
  • 1 Tbsp White Wine Vinegar
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Mexican Oregano or Regular

Directions:

  1. Rough chop cilantro and onion and set aside
  2. Add ALL other ingredients into a bowl and mix well
  3. Add flank steak to a gallon zip lock bag or in a marinating container
  4. Pour the wet ingredients over the flank steak
  5. Add the chopped cilantro and onion to the bag or container and mix well
  6. Let marinate in the refrigerator for 1 to 4 hours. Mixing every hour if you go 4 hours
  7. Heat your grill too 400 degrees
  8. Add your marinated meat and grill for 3 - 4 minutes per side depending on the thickness

Carne Asada can be served as a steak, or slice against the grain for strips. I prefer to dice mine and use it in burritos, tacos and nachos.

For Pico De Gallo just finely dice 1 onion, 1 bunch cilantro, 2 to 4 jalapenos depending on how hot they are. Mix well and squeeze half a lime over it.

Watch the video to see how I do it.

Enjoy!
