How to Make Delicious Spanish Rice: Flavorful, Easy, and Perfect for Any Meal

This Spanish Rice recipe is bursting with bold flavors, featuring perfectly seasoned rice simmered in a rich tomato base with aromatic spices. Ingredients:

  • 2 TBSP Butter or vegetable oil if you need to be dairy free
  • 1/2 Medium onion diced
  • 1 Cup Basmati Rice or your favorite long grain rice
  • 2 Cups chicken broth or beef broth for a richer flavor
  • 1 10oz Can Rotel diced tomatoes with green chiles – You can use with Habanero if you like it spicy
  • 2 TSP Red Chile Powder
  • 1 or 2 cloves of garlic diced. I use the jarred garlic
  • 1 TSP Salt
  • 1/4 TSP Cumin

Directions:

  1. Melt 2 TBSP butter in a pan.
  2. Add diced onions and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Add 1 cup rice and mix well with onions and butter/oil and cook until you see the rice starts to brown up a little.
  4. Add 2 cups of chicken stock, Rotel, Red Chile, Garlic and Cumin and mix well.
  5. Bring back to a simmer and simmer for 13 – 18 minutes
  6. Fluff with a fork
